Borgosesia
This is most popular town in all
of Valsesia, as well as the most
densely populated. The outskirts
of the municipality are located
on various mountain terraces, or
amidst the woods, and preserve various
examples of traditional houses from
Valsesia.
The
Sanctuary of S.Anna: this church is located at Montrigone,
along the road to Novara. It was
built in 1631 over the ruins of
the old castle that belonged to
the counts of biandrate, to fulfill
a vow taken by the townspeople when
Borgosesia survived the terrible
plague of 1630. It became a stopping
point along the pilgrims' way to
the Sacred Mount of Varallo. |
